Gearing up for summer

Yes I know, it's still pretty freezing outside, especially at night. However, this hasn't stopped people from asking me about bikinis and when I'll be making them. So this past week I decided to make some. 3 in all. Cherries, leopard, shiny shiny. These words all spell sexy to me.
I've also added 2 dresses. One plays with layers, the other with a V pattern. I'm trying to do different styles of dresses. Yes the empire waist kind are nice, but I felt like doing something different.
Who knows what I'll come up with next week.
Enjoy!

4 New Dresses

I've been busy. I made 4 dresses and have listed them on etsy. Lace, knit, layered. I love making these dresses and they are so comfortable too.
I wouldn't dream of ever buying a dress again that wasn't comfortable.
Oh and I hate zippers.

20 hours a week

Ah so yesterday I find out that due to the economy affecting business at the place where I work, A vitamin and supplement store, our boss has decided to cut everyone's hours back. Some are being reduced by a day, others by an hour. Unfortunately I've been reduced down to 20 hours a week and honestly I can't live off that or even move out!
Terrible terrible. However I'm keeping a positive outlook. This is simply going to give me more time to make things to sell online and develop my business.
Also, perfect timing, my brother has commissioned me to make more epaulets. Epaulets are these

Pilots are mainly the ones who wear them and that's who my brother caters to through his store in Pheonix and his site http://www.pilotshop.com. It will definitely make up for the lost wages at work.

Another piece of good news. I stumbled upon a local store, that funnily enough is just round the corner from where I work, that carries clothing in the same style as what I make. So I contacted her about consignment and will be scoping that out.
If you are local the store is Black Orchid Couture on 4th Street.

I'm actually pretty proud of myself since I'm really starting to work on networking and getting traffic to my store.

Next step is really vamping up the site that I have to make it more user friendly and i definitely need to stop neglecting my t-shirt stores. Bah. Too many irons in the fire but hopefully now I have more time I can do more with my 24 hours.

Smoldering hot dresses

Indeed, I really need to start updating this blog more often to keep you up to date on the happenings.
Let's start with a list:
1.Changes
2.New Items
3.Plans for the future

1. Changes.
I have decided to close www.theindigopearl.com, cldarts.etsy.com, and theindigopearl.etsy.com, because I'm spreading myself too thin and think it will be easier for me to combine things into one shop. So I am putting everything into my www.FrenchieStiles.com and FrenchieStiles.Etsy.com sites.
I will let things expire in theindigopearl.etsy.com and cldarts.etsy.com and relist them in FrenchieStiles.Etsy.com.
I am now an officially registered business Frenchie Stiles Clothing Co. and so needed to do some cleaning up before I moved ahead.
I do have a Twitter account now which I will try and keep updated. Just look for Frenchie Stiles.

2. New Stuff
I have added many items since my last post so see below for all the new goodies.

3. Plans for the future
Well my plans for this year are to not only grow my business but also be able to earn enough money to somewhat sustain myself while having a part time job. The economy is bad yes, but I'm keeping a positive outlook and know for a fact that once people get a little piece of good news, their confidence will grow again.
I'm also hoping to do more custom orders. They are more time consuming but I believe worthwhile. However people don't always understand that custom orders will always be more expensive than a dress I just made for anyone to buy.
The other thing is I will be also making lingerie for a new site called www.milkandcookeez.com. They carry mainly bath and body products, some very cute soaps in the shape of candy and cupcakes. I will make limited editions exclusively for that site that you won't find in my etsy store. So check it out!
My main goal this year is to move out of my parents house and I'm really hoping for my clothing to take off in order to make that dream come true.

Anyway,
Till next time.

Updates Ahoy

My goodness. I'm really bad about updating blogs. It has been shamefully long since I did this. And it's in my own interest to do so too!
Anyway, am finally getting back round to sewing and selling on etsy again. Still going strong with the lingerie and have begun making soft bras to match the underwear of Frenchie Stiles.
I've also been concentrating on making dresses for The Indigo Pearl.
I set up a site for Frenchie Stiles lingerie mainly to have a site and also a way for people of finding my stuff on the web or for custom order contacts. find it at www.FrenchieStiles.com.
Other than that just busy working.
The economy is not that great at the moment, and of all times to feel the itch, I now want to make clothing as a full time endeavour. What a time to want to do that!
Hopefully the holidays will prove fruitful though I have a weird feeling they'll be a little disappointing.
I'm making most of my gifts this year, don't have the money to buy anything.

New Cute Stuff!!!

With December now here and holiday shopping in full swing, I've decided to add a few more things to my shops.
I haven't had much luck so far, but I think this is partly due to the fact that I don't use ebay anymore (fees are way too high now), and that people aren't spending as much money this year as previously. I know I'm feeling the pinch just like everyone else is right now.
I still am hoping one day to do this professionally without having to have another job on the side just to pay the bills.
Anyway, this week, I have added 2 hot little retro rockabilly dresses to The Indigo Pearl, a dress, cardigan and hooded scarf to CLD Arts.
I'm also dabbling in the idea of making special incense. Yes I am a pagan, not wiccan but a solitary practitioner and believe in the use of candles but more so in the use of incenses and stones. Lets face it, we all need a little magic in our lives and it doesn't harm anyone. Because when magic is practiced, it is to be practiced in a peaceful and nondamage-inflicting way. Prayer is a form of magic, whether people like to see it that way or not. Lucky charms in the form of saints are also a form of magic. Magic is simply wanting the aid of a higher power on our journey through this existence.
I in no way support dark magic as more often than not it is unethical and causes harm on others.
On a lighter note, below is my newer stuff.

Happy Shopping!!!

Panty frenzy

So I got on a panty-making role today. 4 pairs to be exact. Cute pairs at that. I'm going to try bras next and the indispensable cami sets, or just camisoles on their own.
I think the sizes are fairly in range of what the average person's size is.
